Our Fixed Benefit Option Plans
There are three fixed benefit option plans under the Heritage Health Medical Aid Fund, namely the Moringa, Hoodia and Aloe Vera benefit plans and which makes provision for both in-hospital and day-to-day, or out-of hospital, benefits. The fixed benefit options are designed in the same manner as is the standard practice in the medical aid fund industry, however there is a distinct advantage under these three benefit options.
What is different under the Heritage Health Medical Aid Funds’ Fixed Benefit Options is that all in-hospital services are paid at 100% of the actual costs to be incurred, such as the accommodation, theatre, specialists, anaesthetists, et cetera. All the services out of hospital under the day-to-day benefits are paid at 100% of the agreed tariff.
The Medi Wallet – A Competitive Advantage
If a service provider charges more than the agreed tariff you will be required to make the necessary co-payment to the service provider, unless you wish to include the Medi Wallet benefit to your day-to-day plan and provided you have made payments to your Medi Wallet and that there is sufficient funds in your Medi Wallet which enables Heritage Health to make the shortfall payment(s) on your behalf and on your instructions.
What is also different is that you may opt to include the Medi Wallet which is another innovative advantage under your Fixed Benefit Options. Medi Wallet is a tool which you can use to effect payments for any of your health related costs. In addition to your Fixed Benefit Option you may opt to take out the Medi Wallet Cover.
Contributions to your Medi Wallet are in multiples of one hundred dollars (which may form part of your monthly debit order). Heritage Health will be providing the Medi Wallet service at no additional costs to the members – it is your money and only you can authorize Heritage Health to effect payments from you Medi Wallet.
