On this page we would like to give you some guidance as to which of our health plans you should choose under which conditions.
Fixed Benefit Options
These three options are the standard benefit options whereby provision is being made for both in-hospital and day-to-day services.
The design is the same as is the general industry practice and may be considered by all persons.
All services whether in- or out-of hospital are covered at 100% of the actual costs. It will be important for you to manage your benefits. A guideline to use to enable you to make an appropriate decision as to the most appropriate benefit option is to consider the size of your family and your healthcare expenditure per month. For example, if chronic medication is being used what is the average costs per month and then to compare this to the available chronic benefit under each plan. The same principle may be used to establish for example the frequency of general practitioner consultations, spectacle benefits etc.
Your current benefit utilisation will assist you to determine the most appropriate benefit option under the three fixed benefit options.
Design Your Own Benefits
One of the three top in-hospital plans will form the basis of your cover. You may then opt to add a
- benefit booster to only make provision for chronic medication, specialised radiology and oncology benefit; or
- alternatively you may opt to add day-to-day benefits. You may opt for one of the three day-to-day benefits or you may opt multiples of the day-to-day benefit plans.
For example you may choose the Lavender in-hospital plan with the Prime day-to-day as well as the Top-plan. You then simply add up the total day-to-day benefits of the two day-to-day plans to establish your total day-to-day benefits for the year.
